There’s a terrible 5 mill property tax increase on the ballot RIGHT NOW NOLA!!!
It’s 5 mills for every property in Orleans Parish for 20 YEARS!!! Of the over $21 MILLION DOLLARS raised only 1,000 “lucky lottery” children will benefit. The maximum benefit per child is $1,500 per year. So, WE pay over $ 21 MILLION DOLLARS so 1,000 children maybe get “early education”(some will just have a babysitter). So, a $21 MILLION DOLLAR TAX for a $1.5 million dollar benefit. The other $19 MILLION DOLLARS? Goes to City Hall and the School Board…to squander at will with NO accountability. NO!! HELL NO!!
